PositionThe main responsibility of the engineer will be to process primary tumors and extract DNA, RNA and proteins from primary tumor biopsies using established methods, followed by quality control of the isolated biomolecules.In addition, for selected samples, single cells and/or nuclei will be isolated for further analyses.
The candidate will work at both Rikshospitalet and Akershus University Hospital.ProfileWe are looking for a highly motivated, well-organized and dynamic person with creative thinking. The ideal candidate has:
  • Bachelor in one of the following areas: molecular biology, cell biology or biochemistry
  • Working proficiency with standard laboratory procedures
  • Experience in biobanking human biopsies and extracted nucleic acids and/or proteins
  • Experience in isolating single cells or single nuclei from fresh frozen or FFPE samples (an advantage)
  • High intrinsic motivation and strong scientific curiosity
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • A proactive, flexible and problem-solving attitude
