Lab Engineer/Principal engineer in Precision cancer epigenomics groupJob descriptionThe aim of the Sahu group is to utilize cellular cancer models together with genome-wide multi-omics methods to understand cancer epigenome reprogramming. We use modern cutting edge functional methods like single-cell multiome-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, HiC either at bulk or single cell levels together with high-throughput methods like massively parallel reporter assays (MPRAs) to understand the gene regulatory logic and the deregulated programs in cancers of endodermal origin. We are routinely improving these methods for more translational research for the benefit of the patients in the Nordic hospitals.We announce a 1-year Lab Engineer/coordinator position with possibility of extension and are looking for a motivated candidate with an excellent track record who can work both independently and as part of a team.Tasks include
  • Managing laboratory operations and ordering of consumables and reagents.
  • Responsibility of daily maintenance in the laboratory space and equipment.
  • Cell culture of established human cell lines.
  • Assisting researchers in their experiments and lab activities.
  • Optimizing and conducting routine experimental protocols.
Previous experience with cell culture and transfection, routine biochemistry and molecular biology methods, lentivirus preparation, titration or next-generation sequencing library preparation is an advantage. Prior work experience in animal work such as with mouse experiments with a license will be a plus. The working language of the research group is English, but this position requires fluency in Norwegian language.
