In this role, you will perform design and analysis of mooring, riser and cable/umbilical systems, and input to marine structures for offshore energy applications-including Oil & Gas, Floating Wind, and emerging CO₂ injection technologies.
You will also contribute to the development of our marine analysis tools and methodologies, and play a key role in concept studies, quotations, and engineering projects for future offshore solutions.This is a versatile and impactful position where you will work closely with experts in structural, mechanical, and installation disciplines.About the CompanyNOV APL, located on Hisøy outside Arendal, is a part of NOV Completion & Production Solutions and a global leader in advanced offshore loading and mooring technologies. - Perform design and analysis of mooring and riser systems for Oil & Gas and Floating Wind applications.
- Conduct marine analysis including vessel motions, green water, slamming, and hydrostatic stability.
- Contribute to loading system and CO₂ injection system design for offshore use.
- Participate in preparation of technical quotations, feasibility studies, and client proposals.
- Support and influence development projects for new offshore products and systems.
- Engage in technical discussions with clients, sub-suppliers, and classification societies.
- Contribute to the development of internal marine analysis tools, models, and procedures.
- Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent education within hydrodynamics or marine structures.
- Solid theoretical knowledge; experience from the offshore industry is an advantage, but newly graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong programming and analytical skills; coding in Python, Fortran, or similar is part of daily work.
- Experience with or willingness to learn marine/offshore software such as:
