Baker Hughes continues to help customers meet the world’s evolving energy needs through technology leadership, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to sustainability.Fuel your passionThe MDC Tendering role is responsible for defining the optimal technical solution for Manifolds, Distribution and Connections (MDC) systems during Tenders and FEED/Project phases.During Tenders, the role works closely with the Tender and MDC Engineering teams to review client specifications, select suitable and cost‑effective products/systems, and provide technical inputs for costing.During FEED/Execution, the role supports detailed system engineering to ensure customer and project requirements are met. The position reports to the Engineering Leader for Projects and Tenders, with strong alignment to the Regional Engineering team.As a Lead Application Engineer - MDC, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading the technical execution of subsea Tenders/FEEDs/quotes, from full system offerings to individual product orders.
  • Ensuring full compliance with company processes, design reviews, CTRs, BOM/MEL/MTO requirements, and industry/subsea specifications.
  • Engaging early with customers, reviewing technical specifications, managing clarifications, and supporting pre‑ and post‑submission activities.
  • Validating designs throughout the Pursuit Phase, ensuring technical alignment and adherence to standards.
  • Preparing technical documentation, including writeups, Equipment Overview Sheets, Product Data Sheets, and supporting engineering inputs.
  • Collaborating with designers to develop tender drawings, P&IDs, and general assembly deliverables.
  • Driving cost and complexity reduction, promoting standardized and configurable solutions while maintaining ITT compliance.
  • Coordinating technical support and vendor engagement for third‑party equipment and design approvals.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Be degree-qualified in an engineering discipline relevant to subsea systems.
  • Have experience in FEED and Tendering engineering, including technical evaluation and costing.
  • Have a strong background in subsea system engineering, including structures, connections, hydraulic distribution, umbilical’s, jumpers, and system integration.
  • Have proven subsea industry experience, with understanding of standards, specifications, and project execution.
  • Have strong commercial and costing awareness, focused on reducing cost, schedule, resources, and project risks.
  • Be proactive, accountable, and able to take ownership of technical work scopes and customer deliverables.
  • Be an effective communicator (fluent English) with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership/influencing skills.
  • Have strong technical problem-solving abilities, able to manage customer expectations and coordinate cross‑functional inputs.
