Our client is a Norwegian startup building next-generation home automation solutions for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. Their products connect hardware, software, and cloud technologies to help households optimize energy usage and reduce their environmental footprint.We are now looking for a Software / Firmware Engineer who loves Python, Linux, and is comfortable using modern containerized workflows.What you’ll doDevelop and maintain software and firmware for embedded Linux-based devicesDesign and implement services using modern languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or C++Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and related toolingCollaborate closely with hardware, backend, and product teamsParticipate in architecture decisions and help shape our client's technical directionWhat we’re looking forHands-on experience with Docker and container-based workflowsExperience with IoT, home automation, or energy systemsStrong experience with Linux programming, especially on embedded or small systemsProficiency in Python is a must haveGo, Rust, or C++ is desirableSolid understanding of operating systems, networking, and system-level programmingComfortable working in a fast-moving startup environmentFluent in English (Norwegian is a plus, but not required)Nice to haveFamiliarity with cross-compilation, build systems, or Yocto/BuildrootKnowledge of secure device provisioning and OTA updatesInterest in sustainability and green technologyWhat we offerA chance to build real products that impact energy consumption and sustainabilityHigh degree of ownership and influence on technical decisionsHybrid/remote optionsCompetitive compensationA collaborative, low-bureaucracy startup culture based in NorwayDeca People AS – Grunnlagt i Norge i 2019 er vi et nordisk forankret rekrutterings- og konsulentselskap med global rekkevidde.
