Job DescriptionThis role will be involved in activities across our area of responsibility working closely together with a team of colleagues with a specific focus on:
- Operational Improvement & Cost Optimization: Lead initiatives to identify inefficiencies, streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Data Analysis, KPI’s & Reporting: Perform data analysis and develop operational reports and KPIs to uncover trends, identify improvement opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Project Management: Manage cross-functional projects, defining scope, timelines, and deliverables. Facilitate workshops and meetings to align stakeholders, share insights, and ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Change Management: Apply change management methodologies to guide teams through transitions in ways of working. Support adoption by engaging stakeholders, managing resistance, and embedding improvements into daily operations.
- Operational Excellence Support: Contribute to initiatives that support the OpEx team in realizing our ambition: drive operational improvements through innovation, digitalization and systematic management of quality and performance.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Shipping Operation, Shipping Commercial, Business Consulting, and/or other relevant sectors.
- Data-driven and analytical mindset with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience in Power BI, PowerApps, Python, or similar is a plus. Proven ability to facilitate workshops, meetings, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Structured way of working and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex issues clearly.
- Understanding of central elements in shipping and trading.
- A clear vision on how to link technology and operation together.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in cross-cultural environments; international experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proactive and self-driven, taking initiative and responsibility for delivering high-quality outcomes.
- High work capacity and ability to handle periods of high workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong team player who contributes to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Comfortable taking the lead on specific tasks or workstreams while supporting broader team efforts.
