We are a technology company focused on applying advanced data science and AI to solve complex problems in heavy industry, including energy, maritime, manufacturing, renewables, and infrastructure.Our work combines deep expertise in industry verticals, with modern software engineering, AI, and machine learning to deliver products and solutions systems that generate measurable value for our customers.We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead and grow our data science capability.This role combines technical leadership, customer-facing solution development in industrial environments, and occasional applied research.You will lead a team of data scientists / applied AI engineers building production-grade AI systems that integrate machine learning, physics-informed modelling, and generative AI.You will work closely with customers, domain experts, and software engineers to translate industrial challenges into scalable AI solutions.The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, and thrives at the intersection of applied AI research, industrial engineering, and real-world deployment. Responsibilities (“What will you work on?”) Leadership & team developmentBuild, mentor, and grow a high-performing data science and applied AI teamFoster a culture of technical excellence, experimentation, and pragmatic deliverySupport recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of data scientists Applied AI & technical directionLead the development of machine learning, physics-informed models, and GenAI-powered systems applied to industrial dataDrive adoption of modern AI architectures, including LLM systems, AI agents, and hybrid ML/physics modelsDefine standards for production-grade AI systems, including monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle managementCollaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate data science capabilities into scalable software products Customer engagement & solution developmentWork directly with customers and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the asset-heavy industry to identify and scope high-value AI use casesLead the design and delivery of end-to-end data science solutions, from exploration to production deploymentCommunicate technical results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersContribute to pre-sales activities, including workshops, technical discussions, and proposal development Thought leadershipRepresent the company externally through technical publications, conference talks, and industry engagementHelp shape the company's strategy in industrial AI, GenAI applications, and physics-informed modellingFurther develop our already high standards for quality of process and deliverables in our customer engagements Required qualifications (“Who are we looking for?”) AcademicMaster's degree or PhD in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related fieldStrong foundation in statistical modelling, machine learning, and scientific computing Technical Skills and ExperienceApplied Machine Learning & Data ScienceProven experience building and deploying production machine learning systemsStrong background in statistical modelling, time-series analysis, and predictive modellingExperience applying data science to real-world industrial systems Physics-Informed and Hybrid ModellingExperience with modelling complex systems using first-principles approaches, physics-informed machine learning, or hybrid physics/ML techniquesAbility to combine domain knowledge and physics constraints with data-driven methods to build robust, interpretable modelsComfort working with industrial process data, sparse labels, noisy sensors and systems which physical intuition matters as much as statistical methods Generative AI & Modern AI EngineeringHands-on experience or strong familiarity with the current GenAI frameworks (langchain, crewai etc.), LLM-based tooling, concepts such as agentic workflows or AI-assisted pipelinesFamiliarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts and how they can be applied to structured knowledge systems Engineering & Software DevelopmentStrong coding skills in PythonExperience with the core Python data science ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn)Experience with time-series data handling and analysis at scaleFamiliarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plusExperience building and deploying production ML systems using MLOps practices, experiment tracking, model versioning, monitoringExperience building production systems using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Experience with APIs and microservices, CI/CD workflows Collaboration & CommunicationDemonstrated ability to work effectively with engineers, product teams, and domain expertsStrong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearlyExperience working directly with customers or internal stakeholders LeadershipProven experience leading data science teams or technical groupsTrack record of delivering AI systems into production We OfferOpportunity to work on real-world industrial problems with measurable impactHighly talented and collaborative colleagues across engineering, product, and data scienceExposure to cutting-edge AI technologies including GenAI and hybrid modellingFlexible and autonomous work environmentCompetitive compensation and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and international collaborationWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability statusLocation can be Oslo, Norway or Stockholm, Sweden.
