In this position you will play a key role in delivering statutory accounts, tax compliance, and consolidated reports for entities in Norway and the UK. The position ensures accurate reconciliations, strong internal controls, and compliance with global accounting standards while supporting audits, budgeting, and forecasting activities. It requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, international offices, and external auditors to optimize reporting and finance processes.Why Altera?

- Work with the accounting leadership team to integrate and optimize resources across the F&A organization
- Independently work on the statutory accounting, audit and filing processes for companies with statutory reporting requirements, primarily in Norway and the UK
- Support the consolidated reporting, audit and filing processes as applicable
- Use of Oracle, Maestro and other data sources for statutory and tax reporting purposes
- Timely reconciliation of Maestro statutory and tax filing system vs Oracle
- Prepare quarterly variance analysis reports and other financial and non-financial reports
- Support the preparation and analysis of the monthly and quarterly reporting of Altera Infrastructure's results to stakeholders
- Support, prepare and file the income tax provisions and tax/VAT filings for subsidiaries primarily in Norway and the UK
- Participate in the overall annual budget and interim forecast updates
- Assist in the maintenance of internal control policies
- Complete the applicable finance related statistical reporting requirements for Norway and the UK.
- Prepare or review various schedules, account reconciliations and journal entries, including but not limited to, derivatives and hedge accounting, foreign exchange, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, lease accounting and tax
- Liaise and collaborate with various international offices, internal departments and accounting teams and external auditors
- Assist with the external audit process for all audited companies in the group
- Review and ensure control description processes are performed and performed as described in the applicable narrative and implement improvements in processes and process descriptions
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders involved in delivering the process to ensure effective delivery and alignment to technical accounting and global standards, and be proactive in soliciting feedback for improvement/ optimization
- Input to transfer pricing documentation
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or similar preferred)
- Experience from accounting systems and reporting software. The group primarily use Excel, Oracle, Financial data warehouse, Maestro and Workiva
- High integrity and able to take accountability for their own deliverables and see them through to the end
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience from audit, accounting or financial reporting under IFRS, NGAAP or UKGAAP
- Minimum of two to five years' experience in the accounting field
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Good English skills both written and orally
