The Store Format Team at Elkjøp Nordic is a cross-functional team working across design, visual communication, merchandising, store planning, property, facility management, and in-store experience throughout the Nordics. We develop holistic concepts and solutions that create inspiring and effective customer journeys in our physical stores.As our Design & Concept Development Manager, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of Elkjøp's physical and visual retail identity across the Nordic region. You will lead a talented in-house team of Interior- and Graphic Designers, ensuring cohesive, customer-centric design solutions that align with our brand and business goals. About the job

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of retail designers.
Define and drive the overall design strategy for Elkjøp's retail environments and visual identity across all Nordic markets. Translate business objectives and customer insights into innovative design concepts and scalable retail formats.
Set priorities and coordinate department resources to meet project deadlines.
Monitor project progress from briefing to post-implementation review.

Ensure consistency, quality, and innovation across all design outputs and touchpoints.
Manage design budgets, timelines, and resource planning.
Establish routines, processes, and ensure team members have the necessary training and tools.
Build relationships and collaborate closely with senior leadership, marketing, store operations, and external partners to align design initiatives with commercial goals.
Oversee the development of store concepts, visual merchandising guidelines, signage systems, and brand expressions.
Stay ahead of trends in retail, design, technology, and sustainability to inform future-forward concepts.

Why should we choose you?Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or related field.10+ years of experience in retail design, brand environments, or creative leadership roles.Proven experience leading creative teams and managing complex, multi-market design projects in a retail context.Strong portfolio showcasing strategic thinking and impactful design leadership.Proficiency in design tools and project management platforms.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluency in English; proficiency in a Nordic language is a plus.Sketching and visualization skills.As a leader you provide clear instructions and direction to others.
