- Design & Construction Advocacy: Review Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Electrical One-lines, and Building Information Models to identify operational bottlenecks, maintenance access issues, or single points of failure before they are cast in concrete.
- AI Infrastructure Readiness: Lead the operational strategy for high-density cooling (Liquid-to-Chip / CDUs) and ultra-high-density power distribution unique to AI clusters.
- Commissioning Oversight: Act as the primary stakeholder during Level 1-5 commissioning (Cx), ensuring the facility meets Tier III "Concurrent Maintainability" standards.
- BMS - Building Management System Architecture: Act as the primary stakeholder from Operations to contribute to the project requirements for the operational facilities and BMS to best meet operational excellence and SLA requirements.
- Operational Team Building: Recruit, train, and lead a world-class team of local and international technicians to manage 24/7 mission-critical operations.
- Sustainability & Heat Recovery: Manage the integration of the facility with the local Tydal environment, including potential heat-export projects and efficient use of the local power grid.
- 10+ Years Experience: Proven track record in critical environments (Data Centers, Semi-conductor Fab, or Nuclear Power).
- Technical Degree: B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent military experience (e.g., Navy Nuclear program).
- Large-Scale Experience: Direct experience with facilities >50MW is required; experience with 100MW+ hyperscale environments is highly preferred.
- Construction Literacy: Ability to read blueprints, understand MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination, and "speak the language" of General Contractors.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Norwegian DSB (Directorate for Civil Protection) and NVE (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) regulations is a significant plus.
- The "AI Specialist": You understand why AI workloads differ from standard cloud workloads (thermal inertia, rapid power swings, etc.).
- Nordic Resilience: Comfortable working in and managing a facility in a sub-arctic climate with unique logistical challenges.
- Tier III Certified: Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS) or Accredited Tier Manager (ATM) status.
