Someone who is ready to take ownership of products and tasks related to control systems for subsea equipment. As a HyMech/instrument engineer you have good knowledge of the products and the functionality, and you are motivated to continuously develop and improve the products. The candidate has the ability to familiarise applicable standards and requirements for the business.We expect the candidate to take on technical ownership of hydraulic and instrument tasks in the engineering department. It’s also expected that the candidate has experience and is familiar with schematics/P&ID for hydraulics and pneumatics. It’s also beneficial if the candidate is familiar with 3D-modelling and will have to gain new CAD/BIM tools in addition to the company’s digital documentation system, such as Teamcenter.As a HyMech Instrument Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing solutions and develop existing products to meet client specifications in addition to international regulations and standards.
  • Holding/attending technical meetings within Baker Hughes to demonstrate concept, preliminary and detailed design solutions.
  • Producing technical input for products related to testing, operation and handling in line with client specifications and industrial standards.
  • Taking responsibility towards production and internal and external follow-up to ensure that the manufacture of equipment and components is performed in the most secure and efficient way in line with Baker Hughes’ quality requirements.
  • Ensuring that Baker Hughes’ product solutions are in line with recognised industrial solutions.
  • Contributing to technical solutions towards sales department for product selection and supplier documentation.
  • Working with planner on project schedules and perform several tasks in parallel to meet the project milestones together with other engineers and specialists within the team.
Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role you need the below:
  • Master/ Bachelor within technical subjects or technical school with proven years experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge on relevant products. Beneficial with relevant experience from design and operation of hydraulic control systems.
  • Show to experience/knowledge on product development cycle, design and document handling.
  • Good understanding of requirements applicable for equipment in explosive atmospheres (ATEX, IECEx).
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written, with the ability to work in an English based work environment most of the work week.
  • Detail oriented, goal driven and with the ability to work independently.
  • Have a client-oriented mindset.
  • Possibilities to travel abroad if deemed necessary on projects.
  • Driver’s license class B is beneficial.
