Our Department for Welding and Material technology at Stord is now looking for a qualified Welding Engineer to join our team.What will you be doing?Act as a super user for WeldEye, MIPS, Power BI, and SPS, and contribute to technology development and continuous improvement initiativesAssist in the review of requirements, standards, and specifications related to new tenders and contractsMaintain dialogue with subcontractors and support procurement processes with welding technology expertiseBe responsible for work related to governing documents within Welding TechnologyCollaborate closely with the Discipline Leader for Technology, other discipline leads, production teams, subcontractors, and inspection bodiesPerform and oversee welding inspection activitiesCarry out additional tasks as assigned by the Department Manager and Discipline Leader for Welding TechnologyWe think you should have:Relevant Bachelor's degree or Technical College education1--3 years of experience as an International Welding Engineer (IWE) or International Welding Technologist (IWT) is preferredExperience with Welding InspectionFamiliar and interested in welding standards and specification such as ISO, NORSOK and ASMEInnovative and solution oriented mindsetWork closely in team with an ability to work independentlyFluency in Norwegian and EnglishWork systematicallyCandidates currently pursuing an IWE or IWT certification are also encouraged to apply.The position is based at Stord Yard, and travel may be required.What we offer:At Aker Solutions we are committed to creating an enjoyable, rewarding, and engaging career where you can thrive.
