- independent and team-based research within hydrological modelling and climate change, natural hazards and climate change adaptation
- contribute within the Norwegian Centre for Climate Services
- develop competitive research proposals and lead researcher projects
- publishing and communicating results to the scientific community and relevant stakeholders
- supervise master and PhD students as part of research projects
- PhD in hydrology or meteorology, or related scientific fields if considerable experience with hydrology and hydrological models can be documented
- experience with hydrological models
- track record with, or a potential for, project acquisition
- excellent research record, commensurate with the duration of research career
- strong scientific programming and scripting skills (in languages like C++, Fortran, R, Python and Julia)
- well-developed skills in communication and teamwork and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. If the successful candidate does not have sufficient mastery of a Scandinavian language (B2 level), the candidate will be required to learn sufficient Norwegian on a B2 level within three years of employment

- experience in spatial and temporal data-driven modelling, including AI techniques
- experience with climate projections, production pipelines for hydrological projections and large datasets
- experience with GIS
