Build a scalable agritech platform and help lead the team behind it!We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our platform, our digital solutions and contribute to the professional direction of our backend and data domain.This role combines deep hands-on backend engineering with team-level technical leadership.As a Senior Backend Engineer you will play a key part in building reliable, scalable services, while also helping shape standards, structure, and technical maturity across the team. At the same time, you will contribute to technical direction within the team, supporting prioritization, mentoring engineers, and strengthening engineering quality and alignment.You'll work closely with the Solution Architect, Product, and cross-functional engineering teams.Your responsibilities will includeDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go and KotlinBuild secure, well-tested, high-performance systemsTake ownership of critical backend components and servicesCollaborate closely with Product, Design, Frontend, and Data teamsEnsure scalability, maintainability, and adherence to architectural standardsParticipate in architectural discussions together with the CTPO and Solution ArchitectImprove testing, CI/CD, observability, and automation practicesIdentify and reduce technical debt and performance bottlenecksTroubleshoot and resolve complex production issuesAs a Team lead you will:Contribute to technical direction and best practices within the backend domainSupport prioritization and team flow together with leadership and follow upsMentor and guide less experienced engineersContribute to recruitment processes and team developmentProvide structured input to leadership on technical improvements and team progressThis is a role for someone who wants to stay close to code while also influencing how the team works and evolves.What We're looking for someone who has8+ years of professional experience in backend or platform engineeringBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Strong proficiency in Go and/or KotlinSolid experience designing distributed systemsDeep understanding of concurrency, scalability, and performance optimizationExperience working in product-driven or SaaS environmentsA track record of delivering robust, maintainable production systemsExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical directionComfortable working with AWS (preferred) or similar cloud platformsThrives on supporting prioritization, team flow, and leadership follow-up.How you work and personal qualitiesYou are responsible and curious in your work and live out MIMIRO's values.
