They're searching for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to help develop the next generation of GIS‑driven tools that power realistic maritime simulation environments.If you love working with GIS, 3D content pipelines, and cutting‑edge simulation technology and want your work to enhance maritime safety and training worldwide, this is your opportunity.What You’ll Do- Lead development of core tools for GIS workflows, 3D modelling, and terrain generation
- Define and maintain clean architecture across a mixed Python + C# codebase
- Mentor junior developers, PMs, and technical specialists
- Collaborate with UX designers, simulation experts, and 3D artists to build intuitive, powerful tools
- Improve documentation, workflows, and CI/CD practices
- Ensure tools are performant, scalable, and built for long‑term maintainabilitySkills To Bring To The Team:- Strong experience with Python (tooling, automation, or pipelines)
- Hands‑on experience with GIS software like QGIS or ArcGIS
- Knowledge of PostGIS and spatial data management
- Experience with Blender for 3D asset processing or automation
- Familiarity with C# integration for simulation tooling
- Solid understanding of coordinate systems, raster/vector data, and terrain processing
- You have a strong foundation in geospatial technology and 3D workflows, and you’re excited to build tools that empower content creators and simulation engineers.
- This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority. The successful candidate may start work with limited access whilst the clearance is being processed.Nice to Have:- Experience developing plugins or add‑ons for QGIS or Blender
- Background in computer graphics or geospatial visualisation
- Familiarity with maritime or simulation tools
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine integration workflows (bonus)What You’ll Work On:- Build custom tools to import, edit, validate, and optimise GIS and 3D datasets
- Automate pipelines between GIS sources, Blender, and simulation environments
- Maintain and modernise legacy tools for generating realistic terrain, port environments, and coastlines
